Well things have been taking off pretty well on this side! We are about to venture back into the studio for recording our EP with Greg Graffin! What exciting news! It's all a sketch but be on the look out for it!
I got to do a ton of things this week. I sent out press for the Witching Show (March 26th--Come!) and got to hang out with Steve! Which was the highlight of my week. Maia's unfortunately is ill with some kind of flu. Let's all hope she gets well soon! And Ryan left for Spring Break to visit his family back home. Yay for family!
So far Maia, Ryan and I have been rehearsing like a cats strung out on catnip. Greg has been extraordinary in letting us use his rehearsal space and giving us tips. We've been writing loads of new material that's raw. If your at all interested, come down to one of our upcoming shows and prepare yourself to hear the new and slightly improved Kievan Rus.

Rumors fly like a teradyctal with three toes.
Well there has been much talk about the band 'breaking up,' and the 'final show' this Saturday. There are fliers posted around promoting the show on the 12th, and completely gave the wrong impression. Let me help to clarify things and eliminate any confusion that might be flying around. I would hate to have wonderful people misinformed!
After long thought, Sylvie has decided to leave the band. Maia and I completely support her decision and thank her for her honesty and wish her all the happiness in the world. Sylvie felt she needed to live without the complications of dealing with band issues, and overall live a typical teenage life. Maia and I will both miss her, but can't expect her to completely devote herself to something she doesn't feel for. We had a tremendous amount of surreal achievements and give her complete props for helping us in every way she did. She's an outstanding person and she will forever be engraved in our hearts! 'Sil-V + us = B.F.F'
But with this tremendous loss, we are still able to create and make music. Although it will be hard transitioning with a new drummer, Kievan Rus still remains a band and plans to keep the rock alive. So whenever you hear 'Hey did you hear that Kievan Rus broke up and will never play a song again.' You can say to them 'No! That's faulty!' and walk away knowing you said the right thing. In conclusion, Kievan Rus has not broken up.

I would like to thank Sylvie for everything and wish her the best. Knowing Vish, she'll probably run off and become some sort of successful entrepreneur and cure cancer. That's what I reckon. We adore you Vish.
