rocky road to dublin
Man...V needs to come home pronto. In other interesting Kiev news, I found out (through my dad who happened to see us on the bill) that we're playing the Chapter House with the Witching in mid-September. I've always loved the Chapter house. And the Witching too. SO all around it's a good situation. ALSO, this band called Voodoo Kitty from Chicago heard our cd from my dad's friend who works out there and offered to have us open for them September 4th...in Chicago. Actually the date is variable because they also know we can't play that, since we're playing the Haunt that night. But...CHICAGO!? I've never been. It's kinda mind-blowing. Like really really.
My mind has been tossed around, of late. It's all over the place and completely insignificant all at the same time.
three sheets to the wind
Sooo...
Warped tour was pretty much the shit. I don't know which was more fun, playing or getting to see flogging molly perform. Both were pretty monumentally awesome. On the Kiev front, I think that was our best performance yet. It was crazy, at one point while playing, I was just so happy and felt like I was made to do this. I felt completely in my natural element. Who knows what that means, but it was a fuckin trip. And on the flogged front, it's just about all I listen to these days and since I'm employed now, I'll have the dough to purchase Drunken Lullabies and -- when it comes out (September 14th [yes i'm a loser]) -- Within a Mile of Home. Three cheers for cash... And Guinness which, I've found, goes together deliciously with chocolate covered almonds.
I cut my bangs. I'm dreading school like a mofo. I'm pretty comfortable in my skin. I can't wait for V to come back so we can play again. I miss Kiev.

Today's been so surreal and will probably continue to be, considering it's London Dispersion's last show. LAST SHOW!?! The fuck is going on? The music scene is going to crumble without their kickassness and awesome-osity. This rots. But check this out (this being on the surreal bit), my grandmother from france arrived at 2 am last night and this morning she let my pitbull out and he ran away so I jumped out of bed to go look for him. After he came back she was like *in french of course* 'I want to buy your car a better soundsystem'. (!!!) So we went to best buy and got a cd deck and new speakers installed for really cheap. During said installation we went to Border's and she was like *yes, still in french* 'let's buy some cds'. (!!!) So we got Rancid Indistructable and Bad Religion's all ages (compilation). AND if that weren't enough I got the Rock Against Bush vol 2 cd for 9 bucks which rocks in so many fuckin ways. So my grandmum's happy because I finally went shopping with her, I've a new soundsystem and fucking killer music to listen to.

There was a smashing bit in the paper about Kiev's upcoming performance at Warped. Not smashing because it was praising us necessarily, but our saintly benefactor Greg Graffin from Bad Religion said stuff about us being good and wanting to cultivate us. It made it seem less like we just pulled connections to sneak into the show and more like we're gunna make it big. Ha! In our interview I used the word stoked. I believe "so completely stoked" are the exact words (and a new and improved surfer-maia surfaces!). It's totally radical, dude. Drove home alone in the rain. My throat burns.

Err..so...yeah this is my blog. Though generally I'm pretty morally opposed to live journal blog type of stints because they're evil, I'm going to make an exeption because this is a band-related bit. So I wont digress (is that a word? divulge maybe?) too much personal personal shite to avoid weird-osity. So we'll keep it strictly business, shall we? In personal news, I'm grounded until warped tour. WARPED TOUR! EEEK!!!"it was s'posed to be so easy" ( i want you all to go out and buy the streets new album A grand don't come for free)Well that seems to be the long and the short of it. I think it's about time I stopped pissing off my rents and started washing the floor!
